Summer is Coming

I'm going to start this week's post with a couple of dad jokes because I absolutely love them.

Q: When does it rain money?

A: When there's a change in the weather.

Q: What did the buffalo say to his son when he dropped him off at school?

A: “Bison!”

Now on to the artwork :)

Feeling a Little Tropical

If you live in the south you know it feels like summer is already here which means flowers are blooming and the a/c is running. In honor of the season's arrival, I painted a couple of tropical acrylic paintings.

I live in the Panhandle of Florida where I can drive to all the above places in five minutes to an hour and a half. Each destination above features the whitest beaches and the most brilliant green and blue water. I highly recommend visiting any (or all) of the signpost beaches and letting your toes sink in the sand before splashing around in the Gulf or walking along the beach after shopping at the boutiques and eating fresh seafood at a local restaurant.

Watercolor Commission

I was commissioned by a local realtor to paint this home as a closing gift for one of her clients. I love doing paintings like this. It's such a special, personal gift. Not just for home closings, but for Christmas or birthdays or any time. This is one of those items that can have such special meaning for first-time homebuyers, retirees, children born in the home, and so much more.

Another reason I love painting art like this is it can be passed down for generations. It's also a great conversation piece.

Featured Artist: T. S. Harris

T.S. Harris is one of my favorite artists. I love the vintage/nostalgic subjects of her artwork. The color palettes are always pleasing and I have yet to find a painting of hers I don't like.

Her original artwork is often displayed at galleries but you can purchase prints at Artfully Walls. https://www.artfullywalls.com/artists/t-s-harris-28835
