I am having a blast on Canva.com creating Mood Boards. These boards are helping me figure out my style and making decorating my home a little easier.
Most of the photos I put on the boards are from Pinterest.
Living Room
I still have some work to do on this board, but this is a good start. I want bright white or light gray furniture so I can change up the accents with the seasons, but I also want rich wood tones throughout. I love earth and water tones which can be tricky to mix if not done well.
I want my home to feel elegant and cozy. I want guests to feel comfortable curling their feet under them on the couch when they sit across from me, but I also want to walk in my front door every day and see warmth and beauty.
Kitchen
Rich wood, bright spaces, and touches of greenery. That would be my ideal kitchen. Lighting is really important. I want it bright while fixing meals but relaxing while eating. A window over the sink is important too. You can't beat natural light.
Bedroom
I love a bedroom that feels a little old world. Again, rich wood tones, a little greenery, and soft curtains. Lighting is essential and lamps give me the feel I am desiring. This is where I go to relax and sleep so no harsh bright lights.
Office/Studio
Vintage, pastel, candles, paints, flowers, jewelry, crochet, everything beautiful, and a place to write and do computer work. These are all essential for this room. I am asking this one space to give me a lot so organization is key. This is definitely a work in progress.
Bathroom
I think a bathroom should be treated like any other room in the house. Decorate it with gorgeous (or fun) artwork, a little flower or plant, or some oils in pretty jars. Between getting ready for work in the morning, using the facilities, and getting ready for bed at night, I spend more time in the bathroom than I realize, and I want it to be a place that is aesthetically pleasing.
Laundry Room
This is another room that can easily get overlooked. After all, we're only in there to throw clothes in the washer and dryer and maybe fold them when they're done. But I still want it to be a space I enjoy being in. However, since it is a small room in the house I need it clutter-free.
My Style
I threw this one in for fun. As I was looking for photos I had saved on Pinterest I started to see a color pattern - all neutrals. I had no idea I had so few colors and patterns in my wardrobe. There's nothing wrong with this, I like these clothes, but it does make me want to step out of my comfort zone sometimes and wear a pretty pattern or bright color.
I hope you've enjoyed looking at these boards and have fun creating some of your own.
Have a great week!
Rebecca ~
