I Took a Break to Create

I took a break from painting this past week to plan and prep for my upcoming art collection release in July. But I still love to create everyday so I did something I haven't done in a long time, and kinda missed. I made jewelry.

I used to make jewelry all the time, but started working on other projects and put it aside. Coming back to it, I realized how much I missed it. It's not something I will do all the time, but I enjoyed it enough I will be making more pieces to sell, and add to my own collection!

Delicate Fun

The first pieces I made were a simple earring and bracelet set using my favorite summer colors, teal and coral. I love how versatile these are. They can be worn with t-shirts and shorts, a maxi dress, or out to dinner.

They're lightweight, so no pulling on earlobes. They're also bright enough to be seen, but not so big they take you over.

Swirl of Color

I saw these beads and quickly fell in love. They can be worn with most color combos: white, black, blue, pink, teal, coral, pink...and they're just fun!

I kind of feel like a kid again when I look at these. The swirls remind me of spaghetti playdoh.

Faux Sea Glass

These remind me of sea glass. The hint of green in the flowers is accentuated by the shimmery beads making this pair one of my favorites.

Ocean Gold

As much as I adore the fun and adorable earrings, I love the classy, elegant ones too. I am drawn to water and this blue makes me happy. I was also impressed with the speckles of gold inside the beads which added an artistic touch.

A Night at the Theatre

And finally we have the sophisticated dinner earrings. These would go great with a little black dress, or a 1920s frock with matching clutch.

Taking a break from creating art and revisiting an old hobby was just the thing I needed to reignite my creative mind. I am really excited about the art to come.

While I work on my new art collection I will also be painting small pieces with a similar theme as the larger ones. You can see these new works as they come out on Instagram (almost) daily or once a week here.

Have a great week!

Rebecca ~
