Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope you're wearing green today. According to legend, wearing the color green makes you invisible to leprechauns and if the leprechauns can't see you then they can't pinch you. Apparently, they like to pinch.
McGuire's Irish Pub
Have you been to McGuire's Irish Pub and stapled a dollar to the wall or kissed the moose head? If not, today is the perfect day to do it.
McGuire's was founded in 1977 by McGuire and Molly Martin and it has become a local landmark in Pensacola. Even celebrities stop off when they're in the area. You can see many of them in photos hanging on the wall as you walk in the front doors.
If you can't make it to the Pensacola location, you can always stop by their Destin, FL location.
This watercolor was done on A5, 130 lb. cold pressed paper.
Watercolor Clovers
Did you know the three cloves on the clover represent faith, hope, and love?
It's also a great source of food for wildlife animals.
This traditional clover was painted on A5, 130 lb. cold pressed paper. I used a mix of greens and yellows with a touch of burnt orange in the background.
If three clovers stand for faith, hope, and love, then what does the fourth clover stand for? LUCK! I hope you're lucky enough to find a four-leaf clover!
I decided to try my hand at painting loosely with watercolor for this clover. Although I couldn't resist defining the edges of the clover, for the rest of the painting I let the paint play together.
Easter Painting Class
We are now taking reservations and payments for the Easter Bunny Painting on April 1st.
The painting classes are always a lot of fun and many people have said, so relaxing. Something I tell everyone at every class is, "you can do it exactly as it is or add your own personality to it and I am here to help you do that." It's so much fun to watch what people end up painting.
I hope you can join us at Coldwater Gardens where you'll not only enjoy the class, you can purchase handmade soaps and honey, and visit the chickens, goats, peacocks, and piglets!
